Product Description:
The High Temperature Dropping Point Apparatus is designed to test the dropping points of lubricating greases at temperatures up to 400°C (752°F). It complies with ASTM D2265 test method, which allows for testing at higher temperatures compared to the ASTM D566 method. During the test, the sample is heated in an aluminum block oven maintained at a constant temperature, allowing the sample’s temperature to rise to the dropping point without operator intervention.
The six-place oven includes large viewing ports and fluorescent backlighting for excellent visibility. The microprocessor-based PID control provides fast temperature stabilization without overshoot. Additionally, the system features over-temperature protection, which cuts off power if the block temperature exceeds the programmed threshold. Dual LED displays show both the actual and setpoint temperatures in °C/°F.
