Working Principle
The detector emits X-rays by accelerating electrons in a vacuum tube using high-voltage direct current generated by a silicon-controlled rectifier and pulse transformer. When these electrons hit a metal target, X-rays are produced and directed through the object under inspection.
As the X-rays pass through the material, varying absorption levels create contrasts on a specially prepared film. These contrasts form a radiographic image that highlights internal flaws such as voids or cracks. The film, enhanced with a lead foil intensifying screen, is developed to reveal defect size, position, and nature for precise evaluation.
