Working Principle
The MDW-ZS measures material hardness using the indentation principle. A controlled force is applied via an indenter to the test surface. The hardness value is determined by the resistance of the material to deformation, shown on a digital display in Webster Hardness (HW):
-
16 HW represents standard aluminum hardness
-
0 HW means the material is too soft
-
20 HW means the material exceeds the testing range
Readings can be converted to other scales such as HV or HR as needed.
Operating Instructions
-
Turn on the device by holding the power switch for one second until the red light activates
-
Insert the workpiece between the anvil and pre-pressing mechanism
-
The instrument automatically performs the test and beeps when the result is displayed
-
Keep the device stable for the most accurate reading
-
Release the switch to reset the indenter
-
The unit shuts off automatically if not used within 20 seconds
