The GenRad 1863 Megohmmeter from IET Labs is a versatile, cost-effective solution for testing insulation resistance across a wide range of devices and materials. Ideal for both laboratory and production environments, it provides accurate resistance measurements up to 20 TΩ at selectable DC test voltages of 50 V, 100 V, 200 V, 250 V, and 500 V. With a simpler interface than its counterpart, the 1864, the 1863 offers dependable performance with easier operation.

This instrument is perfect for routine insulation testing of wires, cables, capacitors, relays, connectors, sensors, and more. Its direct-reading analog meter, selectable test voltages, and clear range indication simplify operation. Built-in safety features include a warning light during high-voltage application and current limiting to approximately 5 mA.

Its stability is ensured by a four-transistor unity gain amplifier and stable power supply design. The Measure/Charge/Discharge switch also enables safe and efficient testing of capacitive devices, making the 1863 well-suited for high-resistance measurements that demand accuracy and repeatability.
