Mitech MHV-Z Series Automatic Turret Hardness Tester
Product Overview
The Mitech MHV-Z Series Automatic Turret Hardness Tester is a precision Vickers hardness testing instrument engineered for micro and macro hardness measurements on metallic and non-metallic materials. Utilizing a diamond pyramid-shaped indenter, this system produces an indentation on the test surface, from which the diagonal is measured to calculate hardness values.
Equipped with a motorized automatic turret, high-resolution optical system, adjustable cold light source, and electronic load control, the MHV-Z Series delivers consistent and efficient hardness testing. Its robust design and automated functionality make it ideal for industrial manufacturing, materials research, and quality assurance environments.

Working Principle
The Vickers hardness test method involves pressing a square-based pyramid-shaped diamond indenter into the specimen’s surface under a specific load. After holding for a defined time, the load is removed and the diagonals of the resulting indentation are measured under a microscope. Hardness is calculated using the formula:
HV ≈ 0.1891 × F / d²
Where:
-
HV = Vickers hardness value
-
F = Applied force in newtons
-
d = Average of the two diagonals of the indentation in millimeters
Operating Conditions
-
Temperature range: 18–28°C
-
Relative humidity: ≤ 65%
-
Environment: Should be vibration-free, dust-free, and free from corrosive gases
-
Installation: Must be placed on a flat, stable surface
The Mitech MHV-Z Series offers a comprehensive solution for advanced hardness testing with high accuracy and automation, suitable for a wide range of industrial and research applications.
