Working Principle
This device emits X-rays that pass through a test object. Differences in material composition and thickness cause variations in X-ray absorption, creating contrast on radiographic film. The resulting image, after development, shows internal discontinuities such as cracks, porosity, or inclusions.
A high-voltage power supply, controlled by a thyristor-based rectifier, energizes the X-ray tube. The film, placed behind the object with a lead intensifying screen, captures the radiation pattern for post-exposure evaluation.
