The Apera DO8500 Portable Optical Dissolved Oxygen Meter is a Dissolved Oxygen (DO) measuring instrument with Luminescent Optical DO Sensor technology designed to provide accurate, stable, fast, and easy-to-use measurements. Unlike conventional electrochemical DO sensors that consume oxygen during measurement and require membrane and electrolyte maintenance, optical DO technology uses the principle of fluorescence so it does not consume oxygen during testing.

The optical DO sensor offers a fast response of approximately 15 seconds, good repeatability, and high accuracy. The sensor does not require electrolyte refilling and does not need a polarization process, making maintenance simpler. The luminescent optical sensor also has a lifespan of more than 8,000 hours.

The DO8500 is equipped with automatic compensation for salinity, temperature, and air pressure to help maintain measurement accuracy across various environmental conditions. Its calibration system is quick and easy, with minimal maintenance requirements.

For laboratory documentation needs, the DO8500 provides GLP/GMP data management with storage capacity for up to 500 data groups and USB data output for transferring data to a PC.
